Well, it finally came to an end with a 2-0 victory by Lipscomb.
Goodpasture hit the ball well in the game (May 17th, 2010) but it was
right at someone for the entire game.
When the bases were loaded, someone came up and grounded out. When
someone got on second, someone else came up and grounded out. It was
like that from the very beginning right unto the end.
This was a very big surprise. I cannot tell you how many people were
stunned with this score. The boys had played very hard up to now. In
fact, they had put up some pretty good numbers.
Here is what the seniors did this season:
Lance Jarreld with
21 HR's, Chase Snyder (7 HR's) had a very high on base percentage (OBP) by
getting hit so much. Seth McFerrin had a very good year as a leadoff
hitter.
Jake McWhirter scattered hits all over the field. Weston Wolfe
always hit the ball hard. Turner Bush threw the ball very good. Tyler Bivens threw the ball very well when called upon. Devin Wrye also threw the ball well when called upon. And
finally Hunter Miller was very steady with the bat for the season.
A lot of HR's and RBI's that they will miss but most of all, they will miss the pitching. Jake and Turner had a really good record. That is excellent along with Devin picking up the third games of the week.
Next year will be different for everyone. If I know coach Estep, he will just turn this around again. Pitching will be there and as always, the batting will always be there.
Good Luck to all involved!
Go Cougars!
PS. If anyone would like to learn about this website to run it for next year, please contact me so I can show you guys how to run it.
