Last story - Goodpasture Cougars

Well, it finally came to an end with a 2-0 victory by Lipscomb. Goodpasture hit the ball well in the game (May 17th, 2010) but it was right at someone for the entire game.

When the bases were loaded, someone came up and grounded out. When someone got on second, someone else came up and grounded out. It was like that from the very beginning right unto the end.

This was a very big surprise. I cannot tell you how many people were stunned with this score. The boys had played very hard up to now. In fact, they had put up some pretty good numbers.

Here is what the seniors did this season:

Lance Jarreld with 21 HR's, Chase Snyder (7 HR's) had a very high on base percentage (OBP) by getting hit so much. Seth McFerrin had a very good year as a leadoff hitter.

Jake McWhirter scattered hits all over the field. Weston Wolfe always hit the ball hard. Turner Bush threw the ball very good. Tyler Bivens threw the ball very well when called upon. Devin Wrye also threw the ball well when called upon. And finally Hunter Miller was very steady with the bat for the season.

A lot of HR's and RBI's that they will miss but most of all, they will miss the pitching. Jake and Turner had a really good record. That is excellent along with Devin picking up the third games of the week.

Next year will be different for everyone. If I know coach Estep, he will just turn this around again. Pitching will be there and as always, the batting will always be there.

Good Luck to all involved!

Go Cougars!

PS. If anyone would like to learn about this website to run it for next year, please contact me so I can show you guys how to run it.

Thanks again,

Troy

Goodpasture ends Season on shutout
Written by Troy Snyder

On May 17th, 2010 the Goodpasture baseball season finally came to a crashing end. The Cougars played David Lipscomb (15-18) who beat the Cougars 2-0 on two good bunts.

The first one happen in the second inning and the second one happen in the third inning. Lipscomb only ended up with two hits with one error. Goodpasture had three hits on one error.

The game had only two times where Goodpasture had a chance to score. Once in the game the Cougars had the bases loaded but the batter flied out. The final time there were two guys on but the batter again flied out.

This game could of went either way but this one ended up with Lipscomb winning and that was the end of that.

Goodpasture (31-7) ended up with a good record. They could have done a lot in the final games but life goes on. Jake McWhirter (7-4) lost this game and is ready to take on Tennessee Tech things. He ended up with 6 SO's.

I would like to say thank you guys for all the memories of the past 4 years or even 7 years. My oldest son Josh and Chase both played baseball. Thank you coach Estep for everything you have done for them.

Thanks to everyone!
